1) No work Involved – People make this mistake all the time. There is a myth
that there is little to do and the dough will start rolling in. This is simply
not the case. There is plenty to do because who else is going to get customers,
retain them, sponsor and train new associates, keep up on the latest products
and product knowledge, making new contacts etc….There is plenty to do. This
business is not for everyone. 3) Don’t jump at opportunities that make promises and pressure you into “getting involved” No one should be pressured into a business opportunity. People that use these tactics of pressure and hype will lose credibility, they already lack integrity so it will just be a matter of time before they flush any business they have established down the toilet. 4) If you’re looking at a network marketing company there should never be a large fee to get involved. Start with a basic enrollment fee if that is what you are comfortable with and fits your budget. There should be options for someone to get started with different products packs and enough products to gift to potential customers. This should also include business support materials for your self. In my opinion you never be paying over $1500 or so. 5) Make sure the company doesn’t require you to load inventory. We have all heard the horror stories of people loading inventory only to find it still in the garage after 6 months and not able to return it. Some companies will try and get you to load inventory so they can reach their next pin level for that month. 6) Research the company you are thinking of joining. Find out their physical address, and make sure they have been around for at least 5 years. Too many good people get scammed by fly by night companies. Due diligence is all you need to stay on top of things. 7) Don’t get caught up in a confusing compensation plan. Talk to someone that knows it. It should make sense. 8) Tools for the business. This can be a huge scam. Companies will try and get you to purchase monthly or weekly tapes, books and go to seminars constantly. Stop right there! You don’t need these tools to build YOUR business. You choose what you want to use for your business venture. Don’t line the pockets of guru’s that sell these tools. Don’t get me wrong though, I am not saying don’t read or listen to information I am simply saying that many modern network marketing companies will have free information to download and use. 9) Don’t get involved if your heart isn’t in it. This will save your upline and yourself much wasted time, energy and money. 10) Product. This might be the last one but probably the most important one. There are tens of thousands of products available in network marketing companies today but most of them are truly useless or build up around hype. Make sure you find a company that has a phenomenal product(s) that is backed by scientific proof and testing. Just because it’s not FDA approved doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. Many people fail in network marketing because they don’t believe in the product they are marketing. This is a critical error! Do your research and make sure you have a very high quality product. Good luck! |
