How to Make Something Beautiful of Your Life!

"Something beautiful, something good.
All my confusion He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife.
But He made something beautiful of my life."

This hymn, which I hadn't heard or sung it for years, has been popping in my mind for over a week now. I could not remember all the words; yet couldn't stop humming it until suddenly they all fell into place.

It was the Lord trying to get through to me with a simple song that always brought tears to my eyes whenever I used to sing it. He is so beautiful and so good. You see, I had been dealing with past regrets, my mind full of thoughts crying: 'if only I had'. Then Jesus came along with this song, gently reminding me that I had been forgiven and that He restores and heals the brokenhearted.

Hindsight is 20/20, right? The consequences of a wrong decision will eventually impact on your own life as well as that of others. Thoughts come into your head all the time. Even the most peaceful, logical, uplifting, and loving feelings can be deceiving. Unless you are steeped in the Word of God and have a close walk with Him, important decisions are often based on feelings rather than His Wisdom.

The question is: "where do those thoughts come from, if not from God? There are those who have come up with the "secret." The short version of that teaching is that the kingdom of god is within you. All you need to do is think positive thoughts of what you want, picture it, and it will be attracted to you.

The law of attraction is no secret, nor is it new. It is Biblical and is called faith in God. If you know God and do His commandments, you are His inheritance and all you need to do is: "ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." (John 16: 24)

The Kingdom of god is indeed in your heart. The question is: which kingdom and which god? There are only two kingdoms. The kingdom of this world, which you were born into, is ruled by Satan. Then there's God's Kingdom, which is never forced upon you.

This Kingdom, bought back from Satan through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Anointed One of God, is available to all. However, you must choose to acknowledge Him and invite Him to take control over your life.

Only the Word of God convicts. Jesus Himself is the Word and He will draw you to Himself. He is the only One who cares so much for you that He will make something beautiful of your life. No matter how much confusion, brokenness and strife you're going through, He will:

"go before thee, and make the crooked places straight," and "give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places." (Isa. 45:2-3)

You are created with a free will. Which thoughts will you choose to obey? Yes, indeed you may get all those things you envision and think of. However, do consider the author of the thoughts and which kingdom he represents. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

"As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in him." (2 Sam. 22: 31) Therefore, seek Him, you shall find Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

God invites you to: "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God and there is none else" I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return. That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear." Allow Him to transform your dreams into the beautiful purpose He has for your life.
