2 - Relieve tense muscles using massage. Gently rub some muscles of the neck, shoulders, face, and head using your finger pads. Be firm, but gentle, and rub the muscles using a circular pattern.

3 - Eliminate pressure from your life. If a specific activity is increasing your stress, cancel that activity. Decreasing anxiety and tension can help give natural migraine relief.

4 - Relax by lying down in a dimly lit room. Relaxing in a dimly lit room can achieve 2 things. A large number of migraine sufferers are sensitive to bright light so lying down in a dimly lit room can eliminate symptoms caused by this light sensitivity. Plus, the more active you are the more rapidly your heart will beat, increasing the throbbing pain. Lying motionless can help reduce the throbbing pain induced by too much movement or activity.

5 - Get away from intense lighting. Even when you cannot find a nice peaceful spot to recline, it can still help if you can remove the intense light.

6 - Pressure point stimulation. There are 2 pressure points found a little lower than the base of the skull, one on each side of the spinal column and approximately 2 or 3 inches from one another. Either depress or squeeze these 2 regions to release endorphins. This will many times help to alleviate discomfort.

7 - Place a cool wash cloth or ice pack on the back of the neck at the base of the skull. This can reduce the amount of blood flow to your head which can help alleviate the discomfort. When utilizing an ice pack be certain to place a thin moist barrier between the ice and the skin. This can be some damp towels or cloth. Plus, putting your feet into a pail of heated water can help move the blood toward your feet and away from your head. This can be a nice approach for getting natural migraine relief.

8 - Put a cool ice pack or wash cloth on your forehead or temples. You'll increase the impact by placing your feet in warm water.

9 - Try niacin. There are 2 kinds of niacin that are usually obtainable: niacinamide and niacin. Niacin, taken in satisfactory amounts, can cause a person to flush (turn red) which can trigger an overall warm feeling and probable itchiness.
